Vic: Man questioned over police killings = 2
The two officers were part of a team set up to catch armed bandits suspected of 28
robberies from 1991 to 1994 and a second spate of 100 robberies in 1998.
After an early morning raid on July 25, Bandali Michael Debs, 47, of Narre Warren,
was arrested by Lorimer officers and charged with the officers' murders.
Police said that a 19-year-old apprentice carpenter from Cranbourne, who was arrested
with Debs during raids last month, was later released without being charged.
A police spokesman could not confirm whether it was the same man that had been arrested today.
On July 31, a 24-year-old man was charged with armed robbery and attempted murder in
connection with the first series of robberies.
The attempted murder charge related to Sgt Silk and Snr Const Miller.
Jason Ghiller, of Hampton Park, was charged with 70 offences including armed robbery,
attempted murder and intentionally causing serious injury.
